Inspiration for Women

Filed under: Inspiration — Jean @ 10:02 am

There are a number of important factors that can provide a great deal of inspiration to women. Some of these factors can be described as growth, grace, and the ability to handle adversity. Many women look to their own mothers for inspiration, and these are typically mothers that had close relationships with their daughters. One thing that can inspire many women is the ability to dream, as well as explore. Women should be inspired to have a “go get them” attitude, and they should be able to handle failure with a great deal of enthusiasm. Being positive is an extremely important inspirational tool for women. Life is full of many challenges, and being able to meet these challenges head on is crucially important.

It is important for women to have mentors at a very young age. These mentors can play an important role in their development, and they can also provide them with a great deal of inspiration. One of the most important things that can inspire women is tenacity, or the ability to push forward when the going gets tough. Unfortunately, women have often been overlooked throughout history. They have traditionally been seen as being weak and helpless, and this view is still prevalent in many societies today. Women have had to prove themselves in every field that they have traditionally be barred from. When a woman is rejected from a field or task because of her gender, she will often have to work harder than her male peers to prove herself.

Women can be inspired by learning that they must not back down to the challenges that they will face in life. Unfortunately, many of them succumb at the first sign of failure or defeat, and this is easy to do. It takes a lot of courage and boldness to stand up and continue pushing forward, no matter how many times you’ve been knocked down. There have been many stories of women who were diagnosed with breast cancer while they were pregnant, and when they were given the option by doctors of terminating the pregnancy for chemotherapy, and they turned it down, and chose to have both the baby and the chemotherapy. While some may not agree with this decision, it does show the power of courage.

One important factor for inspiring women is for them to support each other. By providing a great deal of support to each other, they can be inspired to move forward, and they can truly see the great power that can be generated when a group of people work together to achieve one goal. Women have come a long way in terms of the freedoms they enjoy in comparison to times past. Historically, women have not been allowed to vote, own property, or even smoke. Unfortunately, many of these social rules are still practiced in many nations around the world today. As women continue to serve as a source for inspiration for each other, things can continue to improve, and they will continue to have a great deal of freedom.

Business start-up loan

Filed under: Running own business — Kava @ 11:00 am

Almost all of us have the same dream – owning a home, seeing our children head off to college. This common dream is the one we all want to achieve if not today but hopefully in the future. And owning a small business is one way to make our dream come into a reality.

According to financial statistics millions of our population achieve of owning a small business every year. However, more than this number cannot achieve the same goal because they do not have the capital to start their own business. Most of them do not have a credit history to pursue a business start-up loan.

Some thinks that the way to capital is very easy to achieve. However, there are disadvantages why is encouraged to invest in a business start-up loan.

Here are some of the reasons:

An inexperience manager operating a business and utilizing a business credit is one of the major factors why it is difficult to achieve a business start-up loan.

Risk is the other reason. Credit institutions, banks and other financial institutions are risk adverse. Yes, their business is to lend money, charge their interest rate to you while you use their money. They would rotate it again once you paid them on the next loan. The bad news is that they want to invest in a sure ball win where their money will be back to them. Unfortunately, they see a business start-up loan as a risky venture. Most of them do not want to take chances with their money.

You cannot blame them because in reality thousands of business open and close permanently in the United States every year. Some fails because the business idea is not as good as it was originally thought. Some fail because the management is inexperience and there is too much negligence in the business. Some fails because the business owners does not seem to have the enough start up money to pay for the on-going financial struggle of the business that is trying hard to break through into the competitive market place.

Banks are aware of these flaws. In Addition, they are even aware of the fact that a greater percentage of businesses do not make it pass the first year of operation where the attrition rate is staggering.

This is the reason why applying for a business start-up loan is difficult, but, hey, this does not mean it is impossible to get one. On a lighter note, there are even financial institutions, and credit unions that specifically cater business start-up loans.

How to get a business start-up loan?

Preparing a solid business plan is one way to win the heart of a credit union or banks. Your plan should have a survey and an intensive report of similar businesses that exist in the market. You need to provide true facts that the business that you want to start provides a good profit. You also need to include on your report that your product or service is in demand and how you will provide the demand.

You need to convince the bank or the credit institution that your business can survive even before you will consider a business start-up loan. Some banks may require a co-signer of the loan, personal guarantees or even collateral to back up your business start-up loan application. You need to prepare to have these once you apply for one.

Self motivation for success

Filed under: Motivation — Kava @ 12:27 pm

Self motivation has played an important role in the success of many people, and it can do the same for you as well. Many people fail in life not because of external forces that are beyond their control, but because of the decisions and views they hold about themselves and the world around them. Many people cultivate a world view that is highly negative, and it is this negativity that often sets the stage for their lack of success. At the same time, self motivation is not a simple task. Learning how to self motivate is a skill, and it is one that you will want to master if you wish to succeed at anything you choose in life. However, there are certain realities that you must face and accept.

First, life is filled with hardship. While some of us may know more about this than others, it is a fact of life, and there is no way around it. Whether you are rich or poor, old or young, you will face hardships of a wide variety. The reason why many people fail in life is because of how they deal with these challenges. While there are some people who will push forward through adversity, many people will give up at the first signs of failure. No matter what goals you wish to achieve in life, whether its money, love, an Olympic gold medal, or a Nobel Prize, you must be prepared for both failure and adversity. It is best to prepare for failure, but hope for success.

Why do I say this? I say this because many people find it difficult to stay motivated when they fail. When you fail, it is easy to give up. Many people even consider this to be common sense. Why keep trying when it is apparent that you won’t be successful? Unfortunately, it is this attitude that leads to a lack of success. After studying many successful people throughout history, I have found that there are a number of common characteristics they all shared. The first characteristic is determination. While many people will give up at the first signs of failure, success oriented people will not give up. They will take the time to analyze what they did wrong, and they will not repeat the same mistake twice. They will try an alternative route toward achieving their objective.

Successful people are masters at problem solving. No matter what goal you wish to attain, you will run into problems along the way. How you deal with these problems will determine whether or not you will succeed. Here is an important rule of thumb that you will want to remember: Any problem you encounter will have a solution. When you look at it from this perspective, it is just a matter of finding the correct solution. If one tactic doesn’t work, keep trying until you find one that does. If you become tired, take a break, but never give up. Come back and keep trying possible solutions, and eventually you will find one. Another thing that separates successful people from those who are unsuccesful are the people they choose to associate themselves with.

The saying that “birds of a feather flock together is very true.” Successful people have a habit of spending their time with people who will motivate them. It doesn’t make much since to spend time with someone who is constantly attacking your ideas, or putting you down. These individuals are poison, and they will be a thorn in your side. If you are currently associating yourself with people like this, my advice to you is to get as far away from them as you can possibly can. Successful people choose their associates carefully, and so should you. Many people fail to become successful in life simply because they associate themselves with the wrong people.

If you spend enough time with people who are success oriented, who are uplifting, this will rub off on you, and you to will find yourself on the path to success. While these people are hard to find, they are worth their weight in gold once you find them. Avoid hanging around losers. Their unsuccessful lifestyle will rub off on you, and this will keep you from being successful. Another tip of self motivation is to develop courage. Learn how to stand up for what you believe, to push forward even when other people try to hold you back. In other words, learn how to “think outside the box.” The people who truly succeed in life are those who didn’t follow the crowd. They took the road less traveled, or they took the road that wasn’t traveled at all.

It is my personal believe that society as a whole is being herded along like cattle on a farm. Many of these people will not thrive in life, and they will be taken to the proverbial “slaughterhouse.” To avoid the same fate that so many member of society will inevitably meet, you must choose your own path. Stop allowing society to dictate to you how to run your life, how to think. Learn how to question authority figures. Don’t believe everything that you read in the newspapers or see on television. Take the time to study and formulate your own opinions.

Another important key to self motivation is to spend time studying the world around you. The information that we are taught in school, especially from the kindergarten to highschool level, is extremely limited. Learning more about the world around you will give you deeper insights in how things work, and you will have an enhanced worldview. It is this worldview that will allow you to think outside the box and formulate ideas that you never thought were possible. Most importantly, never quit. Winners never quit, and quitters never win. It is the law or averages. Continue pushing foward and success will eventually meet you. It is these factors which lead to the success of men and women, and it is a failure to follow these techniques which leads to a lack of success.

Personality and motivation

Filed under: Motivation, Personality — Kava @ 4:16 pm

The biggest asset of a company is the Human Resource. It is the very lifeblood of the company because if there are no competent people to run the business, it will surely fail. That is why it is essential to get people who fit the job perfectly.

There have been a number of ways to determine if a person is fit for the job. There are psychological tests done on applicants to establish the personality of the person and if he is the kind of person that totally matches the job.

Jung’s theory of Psychological types theorizes that there are fundamental differences in the way people process information or act based on their personality. In this theory, people are classified as either extroverts or introverts; thinking vs. feeling; perceiving types or judging types; and others. These classifications enable human resource practitioners to determine if a person is fit for a particular job. As an example, a sales job usually requires an extrovert. These personality tests also aid the human resource practitioner in motivating the worker. Motivation is a tricky thing. What motivates one worker may not necessarily motivate the whole team. Because different personalities process information differently and they handle situations differently, they do not have the same response to motivational factors. It is impossible to create personalized motivational schemes for each individual in a large organization but putting the person in a position that fits his personality helps. When a person’s personality fits the job, there are intrinsic characteristics of the job that will more or less motivate the person. If a person’s personality does not fit the kind of work he does, it will be more difficult to motivate the person to perform. Often, when people are unproductive at work, it is not because they are incompetent but because the kind of work they do is not the kind of work that fits their personality. They might perform well at the beginning but their productivity might slip later on.

Abraham Maslow a behavioral scientist, published Motivation and Personality, his theory on how people fill their personal needs in the work place. These needs are ranked in 5 levels starting from the baser needs at level 1. According to Maslow’s theory the baser needs at the bottom of the pyramid must be met first before the other higher needs can be met. The five types of needs according to Maslow are: physiological, safety, love and belongingness, esteem and self-actualization. Human resource practitioners and managers often tailor their incentive and motivational scheme on Maslow’s theory.

Motivators may also be referred to as satisfiers. When a worker’s needs are satisfied then he becomes motivated to work. What satisfies one worker may not satisfy another because people with different personalities also have different needs. This is apparent not just in the workplace but in society in general. We all want different things and different things satisfy us.

What is Wisdom?

Filed under: Wisdom — Goerge @ 5:24 pm

There are so many definitions of Wisdom. It is the practical application of knowledge and skills. Wisdom is often associated with maturity and experience. But some people even those who are young can exhibit wisdom. Often people who exhibit sensibility and fairness are called wise. Their decisions are strategic and beneficial and are well thought out.

Wisdom is a mix of insight, common sense and experience and results to sound judgment. Wisdom is spontaneous and is not created. It may be developed but it cannot be taught or passed on to others. Wisdom is developed through the gaining of knowledge and experience but in the end, when a person lacks one aspect like common sense, then he will not necessarily develop wisdom. Wisdom is sometimes referred to as enlightenment or the capacity to understand natural laws and processes and be able to apply them in practical means. It is the ability to discern truth and exercise good judgment.

Wisdom has many definitions because it is a virtue that is recognized in many fields or aspects of human life. There are religious definitions of wisdom as well as psychological and philosophical. In religious terms, wisdom is the virtue by which a person can discern the truth and the good from the evil. In Christianity, the story of King Solomon who is considered a wise king, tells the story of justice and good judgment. Wisdom is also exhibited by rightful conduct and good morals in religious terms. It means that the person is both prudent and morally upright and he is able to uphold widely held values.

In any case, wise people have a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of life and understand the science of cause and effect. They are self-aware and understand the ripple or butterfly effect. This is the reason they exercise good judgment, they know that even the smallest action a person makes can change the course of the universe, just like dropping a stone in the water will cause ripples to appear, affecting almost the whole surface of the water. One simple decision can change a person’s life forever and people who have wisdom can make decisions that are fair and beneficial to those who really need to benefit the most. They understand that the interconnectedness of life results in one action affecting others, with each character in the world moving, making the world go round and round, and changing it so often.

Wise people are able to make decisions and stick by them even if the decision seems wrong in the beginning. These people have insight and foresight and understand that sometimes sacrifices have to be made to be able to achieve a good result. Wisdom means understanding that cutting the leg saves it from gangrene, never mind that it also means losing the leg. In the end, if a person or a group stands to benefit from a morally upright or ethical decision then the decision is deemed wise.

Self Employment

Filed under: Self employment — Kava @ 9:59 am

There used to be a time when you either ran your own business or worked for an employer. These days, you no longer need a business to be self-employed, you just need to know what you are good at and try to find jobs you can actually do on your own. Believe it or not, there is a multitude of jobs you can do from home or anywhere else you choose!

Almost all types of jobs can be done from the home from freelance writing, transcription to customer service and sales. Because of the growth and the lowering costs of communication devices and media, you no longer need to be strapped to the office desk 8 hours a day, 5 days a week to do a phenomenal job. And when done correctly the set-up is mutually beneficial for both the worker and his employer or contractor.

For the employer, it means lower head costs and the added bonus of not having to deal with the employee personally everyday. Often, when projects and jobs are outsourced to individuals who are under self-employed status, the employer no longer has to pay for the Internet use, electricity and even a lot of Human Resource functions.

For the employee it means keeping a personalized, flexible time and having more time do other things. This means that depending on the work load, a free lancer may opt to work full days or shorter. Or he can choose to work at a time that is most convenient for him. It means being able to structure one’s work life to maintain the best work life-home life balance possible. Some freelance jobs also allow the worker to work anywhere in the world he chooses. Freelance writers have the opportunity to work from home or even in a sunny resort while on vacation. Laptops are great tools and since there is practically Internet connection available worldwide, you can send in your work even if your contact is halfway around the world. It also means not having to deal with office politics and emotionally draining colleagues and bosses.

Of course there are also downsides to working at home. First there are a lot of distractions when working at home. There are the home chores that need to be done, phone calls that need to be answered and all the little fires that need to be put out. Sometimes, it’s easy to prioritize other things aside from work that may leave you becoming a lot less productive. It is best to set up a home office and maintain a regular time for work so people will learn not to disturb you during this time. You may also choose to get a dedicated phone line and Internet for your work so that you can focus on work and not have to entertain personal phone calls while working. You also don’t have to share the Internet with your family when you have to work. Self-employment also requires a lot of self-discipline since you have to maintain your own work schedule and work at your own pace without anyone pushing you.

A Friend of Prosperity

Filed under: Success — Jean @ 9:01 am

Making money is not the most difficult thing, but to live with it is a whole lot of getting used to. Becoming rich is a new experience for those who are not born rich and it is not just confined to driving luxury cars, living in a mansion or wearing jewelry. Prosperity is a way of life, and the rich are different from the poor in many ways other than just material symbolization.

There are a lot of changes you have to make to adapt to a life of prosperity. Even the people around you will treat you differently. If you manage to adjust well to the demands of a wealthy environment, you are bound to have a splendid life. However, for some people, being rich can be quite a strange experience compared to their previous lifestyles where their days are spent primarily to make ends meet. Maybe prosperity is not exactly what they imagined it to be. Well, imagination and reality do have their differences.

Money is just a resource, and there is nothing wrong with it. However, since the world accords such importance to it, it has become the tool for many corruptible deeds. It is truer now than ever before that ‘money makes the world go round’. Many people make it the foremost ambition of their lives, without actually knowing what they truly wish to do if they achieve the wealth they so long for. It is quite a misconception that money can buy you happiness, because depending on how you use it, it can even be the cause of much personal misery and turmoil.

When you become wealthy, everything changes around you. One of the predicaments of rich people is that they find it difficult to ascertain if their friends are true to them or their money. Everybody seems to treat you better wherever you go, and while you enjoy the newfound attention initially, you will begin to have your doubts later. Soon, you will discover that the simple life that you used to enjoy is a thing of the past and you have to actually make efforts to accommodate your new lifestyle and acquaintances.

It is possible to tell the rich from the poor just by looking at them. The rich people seem to be more relaxed and confident in their manners. They can even dress in very simple attires, but their gestures and the way they behave will imply their prosperity. In terms of lifestyle, they are more carefree because they do not have to worry about making ends meet. They are comfortable with themselves everywhere they go. In order to assume the mannerisms and lifestyle of the wealthy, you have to forget about the hardships you have experienced in the past and begin to shower yourself with love.

Simply said, it is important to feel that you deserve every penny of the fortune you have amassed. Most people who ascend to prosperity from a hard life find it hard to accept that they are finally rich. But you have to overcome that to really understand the true meaning of prosperity. Prosperity is a friend, not an enemy.
